History of Heaton Place

As one of the hidden gems of this area is Heaton Place, a charitable housing trust situated between Ebberston Road West and Digby Road, Rhos on Sea, close to the bus route and shops. It is unique both architecturally and for work the charity does within the community.

The history of Heaton Place, Rhos on Sea starts over fifty years ago when it was established in the early 1950s, with the objective of providing affordable, unfurnished rental accommodation. It is available for retired people within the area, who during their more active years have made some contribution for the betterment of others in the community.

It was designed by the noted Colwyn Bay architect Colwyn Foulkes, and planned in the form of a small estate. The first phase was built and opened in 1952, and development continued until the main residential part of the estate was completed in 1977.
